Summary of User Roles and Rights
User Roles
Product Owner (Pricing)
Super Users and Admin
Back Office
Account Owner
Approvers
Matrix of User Roles X User Actions/Right defined in Valios' excel:

Sales hierarchy
Sales Director > 4 Sales Managers > 4-10 Sales Reps / Account Owners
Sales Manager are approvers, and if some thresholds are reached leadership might need to approve.
But no need to complicate - sales rep will select which approver is appropriate
Back office team
Validate that correct products are in the quote
Assist sales rep > should have access to every quote and amendment
can maintain product templates and locally managed data
Sales rep can see each others quotes.
Pricing and Quote Approval
Line item pricing requires approval from pricing team if falling below floor
Pricing team evaluates profitability concerns as product owner
Pricing team approves line items before sales leader reviews entire quote
Confirmed pricing thresholds defined by Price IQ
Sales rep selects which approver the quote will go to - assumed that they will know who the right person is
Sales rep authorized to send communications to sales leadership at any time
Action list
- BCS team create system roles using same names as previously defined: product owner, back office, super users, and pricing
- Define quote lifecycle stages and associated user rights - future quote lifecycle management workshop
- Need to define structure/process for Product Templates
Decisions
- Sales rep manually selects approver, instead of automation from the system.
