2. Progress Summary
Two principal outstanding issues to resolve to deliver an MVP for Soft Go-Live on 16th March.
Zilliant, supported by BCS, to get the performance of CPQ to an acceptable level
BCS to implement margin calculations and summary page
Significant improvements in performance, but Save is now a concern
Adding Product Group Bundles Runs in 30 seconds
Adding a Bundle of 1,000 Finished Goods Still takes around 7 minutes. As the Bundle size increases, the time needed increases more than linearly. Zilliant have found the root causes for the longest running processes and are implementing similar optimisations to the PG bundles.
Margin Calculations Triggers removed and all recalculations done on Save. Calculations have been optimised.
Save Has started running very slowly, 10 minutes to save a 400 line Agreement without any margin calculations or other scripts. Bug raised to Zilliant who are investigating areas for improvement along with the FG Bundles.
Margin Summary page expected to complete today
A good number of bugs closed this week following a full review. There remain some to be fixed but the level is manageable within current timescales.
3. State of Readiness for Soft Go-Live
Performance
The improvements reported last week have been promoted into Test and seem to be working well there. It is now possible to run tests on Product Group Bundles again.
Remaining issues to resolve are the non-linear increase in time needed to add Bundles of Finished Goods, and the time needed to execute a Save.
Zilliant have identified the elements of the processing which are consuming most of the time and have ideas for optimising them. Work on implementing and proving them is ongoing.
The margin calculations have been optimised and we do not expect to make any more gains in that area
All margin calculations now moved to the Save action
As reported above, Save is running very slow at present for reasons unrelated to the margin calculations
Margin Calculations and Summary Page
The Margin Summary Page is expected to complete today
This is later than we had planned, and has been delayed by the unexpected performance issues around Save and working to close down other bugs which were blocking testing
Status of Bugs
8 bugs were raised this week and 7 resolved. A total of 16 remain open, 9 with BCS and 7 with Zilliant. These numbers give us some confidence that we can close down the remaining ones once the Margin Summary is complete.

Completion of MVP for Soft Go-Live
Provided that the performance issues can be resolved, we still expect to be able to complete UAT by 13th March and to launch a Soft Go-Live on 16th March.
4. Project Timeline

5. BCS Personnel Changes
Mohamed Moindjie has been assigned additional project commitments from 16th March, and will no longer be full time on Valio from that date. We will bring in Kaoutar Bennadi or Jean-Baptiste Bruneaux to replace him, both of whom have worked on Valio CPQ previously. Mohamed will still be available to the team for consultation as needed.
6. Status of Changes
We now have a response from Valio to BCS’s list of changes, and discussions are ongoing.
